Rotary Club of Westville Spreads Some Christmas Joy
Children at Jubulani with toys delivered by Rotary Club of Westville
The 2007/8 motto of The Westville Rotary Club is “Westville Cares – Westville Shares.
There can be no better time than Christmas to ensure our club cares for and shares with the less fortunate folk in our community.
Some of our activities to bring some Christmas Joy to those who really need it include:
- Taking children from the St Thomas Children’s Home to the Uncle Jumbo Christmas Party in Kloof. Each child had a night to remember and went home with a toy from Santa.
- Collecting second hand clothes from Westville Boys High School for the children at Streetwise
- Delivering a lorry load of chairs to Jabulani Self Help Scheme, Ngilonde Community Care Centre and to Streetwise.
- Collecting and distributing food parcels to Jabulani and Streetwise
- Collecting and delivering over 400 toys to Jabulani
- Taking children from Streetwise out for a fun morning hosted by the Westville Virgin Active Gym
- Making and installing new curtains to brighten up the bedrooms of St Thomas Children’s Home
