In co operation with the Anglican Church the club lends support in various forms for the centre which teaches sewing to disadvantaged women.
This enables them to earn an income and become self sufficient.
Currently the centre has over thirty sewing students and funds are made available for transport, sourcing of material and, replacement of sewing machines.
One of the needs of this project is constant replacement of sewing machines and addittion of extra machines for the growing number of students as can be seen from the photo below the students are working on outdated and obsolete machine that need constant repair.
On the 15th November the annula prizegiving was held at the church hall with the keynote address delivered by Rotarian Simon Shusha himself an educator and principal of the excellently run Mcushwa school.
Our appeal is to readers of this site to pass on any sewing machines not in use or sewing materials, cottons and scissors.
