THE GREAT BOESMAN COOK OFF
A fundraising dinner was held at Shakas Lodge in Uvongo, on the 2nd November.
Conceptualised by Gary Gray a local buisnessman and owner of Voipstream communications the dinner was planned and run to the last and finest detail by his wife Dr Jacqui Gray with support from Rotarian George Enslin.
Tickets to the dinner sold at
R150.00 and included a book of tickets to the Boesman raffle worth R110, the dinner, and lucky draw prizes, which included a BMW pen set from Oribi Auto which was won by Rodney Denton Cooke, a bottle of Johnny Walker Black label from Margate Holidays Unlimited went to Wolfgang . A bottle of superb Jacobsdal Pinotage 1994, won by Rotarian John Webster and two baby starter packs one to Rotary Ann Mercia Muller
The dinner was catered as a cookoff between organizer Gary Gray who also won the best meal prize for his pork surprize(another bottle of Johnny Walker Black from Margate Holidays), Peet Venter from Oribi Auto took second with his fillet steak dish and the runners up were Oscar Swanlund from Vidicom computers, Mauritz Huizinga from Shelly Wimpy and Peter Sharp from Shakas lodge. an amount of R 10 000 was raised.
Meat was sponsored by Surf Bay Butchery, Michael Frey's fresh meat and Greenlands butchery from Kokstad.
Veggies by Fruit and Veg City and Pick n Pay, and dessert by Royal bakery.
Music was supplied by New Dimension.
