The annual President Elect Training Seminar (PETS) held at the Blood Bank in Pinetown on Saturday 24th March 2007 was a great success. The efficient planning by host club, Westville and the informative issues discussed lent itself to a successful and memorable day.
Jenny Flower provided the thought for the day whilst PDG Richard Tolken presided over the day's event. DG Gerald welcomed all with a few words of wisdom and joviality. DGE Richard Fisher welcomed his team and spoke of his and DGE Ann Dawn's trip to San Diego and the inspiration of PRIP Bicchai Rattakul. He addressed the gathering on leadership, the incoming RI President's emphases and our District goals for 2007-2008.
PP Neville Caine inspired us with a new prespective on membership and reinforced the responsibility of bringing in members as an everyday function.
PDG Colleen Pieterse gave an overview of a Club President's administrative responsibilities and outlined the responsibilities of an Assistant Governor.
DGNN Natty Moodley provided a review of available resources with particular reference to the District website.
PDG Nick Phillips brought about some clarity on taxing matters and gave an overview of the Rotary Foundation's inflow and outflow of funds.
Our Anns who had their own breakaway sessions enjoyed a half-day event in advising incoming Anns' Presidents of their responsibilities and the role of the AG Ann.
The day ended with a vote of thanks to all who were involved in the efficient organisation of the event.
